This room is intended for short term use, primarily to hold press conferences. Check out other areas available in the Capitol Building for needs longer than 90 minutes. Please note there is no buffer time between reservations, so please be prompt in your arrival & dismissal.
This room can be reserved using the online system. Select your desired date and time. A confirmation email of a successful reservation will be sent to the requester, no other confirmation will be sent. Your reservation must include time for setup and cleanup. You are responsible for returning the room to original condition. All children must be accompanied by an adult & supervised at all times.
Food and/or beverages may be enjoyed in this room. The Capitol Complex contract food service provider may be reached at 651-224-3004, or you may use a caterer of your choice during regular building hours. Delivery arrangements are the responsibility of the reservation holder.
Year round building hours (excluding holidays) are:
Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

5-11:00 PM is considered after-hours and fees apply

8-10:00 AM and 3-4:00 PM is considered after-hours and fees apply

8:00 AM - 1:00 PM is considered after-hours and fees apply
Events held before or after regular building hours are considered After-Hours Events, additional information is required to ensure Capitol Building access and security. Fees will be applied for this service. Access will be denied if the additional information is not provided. This information will be requested once you submit your reservation.
Please Note: After-Hours Event are not confirmed until fees are received by this agency and a signed contract is in place.
After-Hour Events that include food and/or beverages must use our contract vendor. For arrangements, contact the Taher Chef Manager at 651-224-3004. Event holder is responsible for all arrangements, including costs incurred with catering. Room must be restored to the original condition at the end of event.

This room is for press conferences and that the number of attendees impacts the ability of the press to cover the event. Therefore, the recommended capacity for the room is 60.
- Opening the tunnel door during a news conference will ruin the audio. It is your responsibility to make sure no one enters through the tunnel door. Please use the free-standing sign provided that will direct people to enter through the green room during the news conference.
- The function of the audio in this room is for broadcast by House Public Information or Senate Media. It will also allow the Press Corps to connect in for listening, recording and or re-broadcasting purposes. Turn on the sound system to distribute audio to the press room.
- You are responsible for notifying the media, Senate Media Services and the House Information Office about your press conference.
- All activities in the Press Conference Room are open to all media.
